Glass Manufacturing Machinery and Equipment Appraisals
Certified glass manufacturing machinery & equipment appraisals. CEA recently appraised the machinery & equipment of a flat glass manufacturing facility. The subject machinery & equipment appraised included raw materials storage and transfer equipment, electric and natural gas fired melting furnaces with boom chargers, fore hearths, forming roll stands, annealing lehrs, cold end glass finishing equipment, secondary tempering lines, edgers and polishers, washers, inspection equipment, forklifts, and general plant & support items.
Appraisal Conclusions: The subject machinery & equipment was generally older. Not removable or heavily installed machinery and equipment had little or no value under the removal value concept considered. This category of machinery and equipment had high In-Place value. The market for domestic flat glass in general is continuing to improve, and corresponding demand for glass manufacturing machinery and equipment is also on an upswing.
Sawmill Machinery and Equipment Appraisals
CEA has recently appraised the machinery & equipment of a sawmill. The subject sawmill machinery and equipment appraised included band and circular saws, resaws and cant sizers, gang saws, rip saws, debarkers, edgers, planers, chippers, hogs, mulch processing equipment, firewood processing equipment, and other associated items.
Appraisal Observations: The domestic sawmill and wood production industry has faced challenging conditions, but improvements are anticipated. A recovery in housing starts and remodeling activity will support demand for wood products. Correspondingly, demand for good quality sawmills and related machinery and equipment is also improving.
Plastics Manufacturing Machinery and Equipment Appraisals
CEA recently appraised the machinery & equipment of a multiple location plastics components manufacturing company. The subject machinery & equipment appraised included injection molding machines, plastic injection molds, resin transfer equipment, mold and water temperature controllers, vacuum loaders/hoppers, granulators, automated assembly machines, forklifts and material handling equipment.
Appraisal Conclusions: Newer, good condition injection molding machines have high value. Injection molds have value in continued use/operation. These molds are valued as scrap during liquidation.

Jet Engine Repair Facility Machinery and Equipment Appraisals
CEA recently appraised the machinery & equipment of a jet engine repair facility. The subject machinery & equipment appraised included CNC machine tools, CNC blade tip grinders, balancers, General Electric jet engine specific tooling, General Electric jet engines, and general plant & support items.
Appraisal Conclusions: The subject machinery & equipment was new. Concluded values were favorable, primarily based on condition and current market demand. The General Electric jet engines, jet engine specific tooling, and jet engine stands in particular had high value, which was supported by recent forced and negotiated sales of like kind assets.
Scrap Aluminum Processing Machinery and Equipment Appraisals
The subject machinery & equipment appraised includes ring shredders, magnetic and eddy current separation systems, balers, melt furnaces, casting lines, forklifts and material handling equipment.
Appraisal Conclusions: The industry’s revenue has suffered in recent years, as consumers and manufacturers have spent less on products recycled by this industry. The weak scrap aluminum markets directly affected the value of used scrap aluminum processing equipment. The industry is rebounding, and used aluminum scrap metals machinery & equipment values are similarly improving.
